Duval to make race debut for France
Loic Duval will get the chance to step up to the race seat for reigning champions Team France in New Zealand this weekend
Duval has served as the team's reserve driver in the rookie sessions so far this season, but he will get his chance in the second half of the season as Nicolas Lapierre prepares for his third year in GP2.
"I'm confident for the weekend ahead," said Duval. "The car was good in Sentul with Nicolas finishing on the podium and I'm excited to go to New Zealand for the first time."
Several teams are also expected to use drivers that are eligible to take part in Friday's rookie sessions as well as the races, in order to take advantage of the extra track time on the new Taupo circuit.
Eric Boullier, managing director of Team France, said: "It is quite important to record and study the maximum data on a new track to make up for the experience we have not had there.
"The team will benefit from maximum running time on the track as Loic can drive in the rookie sessions and both races."
