Czech heads free practice at Taupo
Czech Republic's Tomas Enge set the pace during free practice for this weekend's A1GP race in Taupo, New Zealand
The ex-Formula One racer just pipped the impressive Narain Karthikeyan at the head of the times in the one-hour session, which was briefy red-flagged following James Hinchcliffe's shunt in the Team Canada car.
Loic Duval kept up his strong form for Team France to set the third best time, just ahead of Richard Lyons in the rejuvenated Team Ireland outfit.
Championship leader Team Germany was fifth with Nico Hulkenberg, less than half a second off the pace. Italy was sixth courtesy of another ex-Formula One tester, Enrico Toccacelo.
Jonny Reid put the New Zealand car eighth, narrowly ahead of South Africa and Team GB.
