Carroll hopes test leads to race seat

Adam Carroll believes that his upcoming test with Forsythe Racing could lead to a race drive with the team

The Ulsterman has already driven a Champ Car in a test with RuSPORT, and he hopes that his two-day test next week will raise his profile in America.

"Forsythe is another cracking team to get a test with, and I'm really excited because it should open a few more doors," Carroll told autosport.com.

"I've already had a successful test with RuSPORT and I feel very comfortable with the car, so I think I can do a really good job."

The GP2 race winner is hoping that his performance in the test will be enough to earn him a drive at Forsythe, and he believes that the team are taking him seriously.

"They wouldn't offer me a seat just for the sake of testing me," he said. "There's a drive going there, and I'm going to do the best job I can.

"We've been working very hard to put something together in America, we've been to the last three Champ Car races and we are taking it very seriously.

"If I put in my fastest and most professional performance, hopefully that will be enough for them to offer me the race seat."

Carroll will test with Forsythe on December 11-12 at MSR Houston Raceway, along with Champ Car Atlantic champion Simon Pagenaud and Indy Pro Series champion Jay Howard.
