Britains up in Lights

Following on from his spectacular Detroit victory, Irishman Derek Higgins was fastest in practice for the Indy Lights race at Chicago

The British drivers dominated the top of the timesheets, with Higgins followed by Guy Smith in the lead Tasman entry.

The whole field is covered by an incredible 0.8s, so points leader Oriol Servia is still in with a chance despite being only 15th yesterday.

It was a good day for Higgins' Team GO, the Mexican outfit getting their second driver Mario Dominguez into 5th place.

Frenchman Boris Derichebourg returned to action for the first time since the Portman Arrows team quit Formula 3000 in June. On his Lights debut, the man who was Juan Montoya's Super Nova team-mate last year wound up 16th fastest, not bad for his first competitive appearance on an oval.
