Bell: Second title better than first
Newly-crowned Le Mans Series GT2 champion Rob Bell described his second successive title as even better than the first because he was able to appreciate it more
The Virgo Motorsport driver, who won the GT2 class in Sunday's Autosport 1000km alongside Jaime Melo, took the title on his own because his regular co-driver Gianmaria Bruni was racing the FIA GT Championship at Brno.
"It's a great, great feeling," said Bell. "It means everything. It's a different feeling from last year. Last year was just elation, but this year I appreciate it more, the effort of contribution of Dunlop and the whole last two years has been building up to the tyre which we have now which is superb.
"And the team has been amazing.
"At the Nurburgring the car was on fire, and we had to rebuild the car and the team was down and we came back to win it. So I appreciate it more this year, just because of the graft that we put in.
"Four wins, four poles. We didn't win at Monza but we were leading and had a puncture. Seasons don't come much better."
