WRC Poland, Assen MotoGP, Norisring DTM and more

MotoGP - Assen: Karel Abraham nearly ploughed into Pol Espargaro in the pitlane as he rejoined after their bike changes. Pol dodged out of the way in time.
WRC - Poland: Hanninen makes it a provisional Hyundai 1-2 on this stage by completing it 2.9s slower than Neuville.
MotoGP - Assen: Dovizioso sweeps past Aoyama to lead the race for Ducati.

There are 19 laps to go and Marquez is 3.1s behind Dovizioso after his mistake.
MotoGP - Assen: Lorenzo, Hayden, Smith and Bradl all pit for slicks.

Aoyama now leads but is the last man on wets.
MotoGP - Assen: Marquez has taken a trip over the gravel on his first lap on slicks, Dovizioso has passed him.
MotoGP - Assen: Lorenzo now leads, still out on wets, ahead of Hayden, Smith, Aoyama and Bradl.
MotoGP - Assen: Aleix Espargaro, Pedrosa, Crutchlow, Iannone, Bautista and Rossi also pit for slicks.
WRC - Poland: Kubica completes the stage 21.4s slower than Neuville. Team-mate Hirvonen fairs a little better and reaches the finish just 7.0s off the ultimate pace.
MotoGP - Assen: Both Marquez and Dovizoso pit to change from wets to slicks.
MotoGP - Assen: Dovizioso is back on Marquez's tail, just half a second behind again.
MotoGP - Assen: Laverty and Redding have pitted, are they taking slicks?

MotoGP - Assen: Honda is taking the covers off Marquez's second bike in the pitlane.
MotoGP - Assen: Crutchlow is up to fifth, passing Iannone.
MotoGP - Assen: Marquez gets his lead over Dovizioso up to a second for the first time. Espargaro in third is nearly 7s off the lead after four of 26 laps.
MotoGP - Assen: Not great for Yamaha right now. Lorenzo in seventh is being caught by Hiroshi Aoyama, and Rossi is still 13th.
MotoGP - Assen: Dovizioso, so often great in the wet, is keeping Marquez on his toes, still only six tenths behind the leader.

WRC - Poland: Neuville beats his Hyundai team-mate by an impressive 8.9s! The Belgian is currently fifth overall and is the best part of 10s behind Hirvonen, so it'll be interesting to see how he gets on.
MotoGP - Assen: Rossi is past Edwards for 13th and now trying to close down a 3.7s gap to Hayden in 12th.
MotoGP - Assen: Crutchlow - much happier in the damp - passes Lorenzo for sixth place.
MotoGP - Assen: Marquez leads Dovizioso by six tenths in the lead battle, and they've pulled clear of Espargaro.
MotoGP - Assen: Rossi is eager to make amends, he's up to 14th from his pitlane start within two laps.

MotoGP - Assen: It's raining again too. Everyone now on wets after Rossi's last-gasp chance before the start.
MotoGP - Assen: Marquez leads Dovizioso, Aleix Espargaro, Pedrosa, Iannone, Lorenzo and Crutchlow as they complete lap one.

WRC - Poland: Paddon becomes the fastest man through the stage, beating Prokop's time by 2.4s.
MotoGP - Assen: Lorenzo has got up to sixth, Rossi is 18th.
MotoGP - Assen: Polesitter Espargaro fell to sixth off the line but he's back up to fourth, and now takes Pedrosa for third.
MotoGP - Assen: Dovizioso and Marquez are swapping the lead repeatedly around the opening lap, now it's the Honda back ahead.
MotoGP - Assen: Now Dovizioso charges past Marquez to put Ducati in the lead.
Lights out
MotoGP - Assen: Marquez bursts straight into the lead ahead of Dovizioso, Pedrosa, Iannone and Crutchlow.
MotoGP - Assen: Rossi and Espargaro abandon their slicks and switch to wets, Rossi starting from pitlane.

MotoGP - Assen: Definitely wets for the front row men Aleix Espargaro, Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa...

WRC - Poland: And the Czech records the first time of the stage - 7m50.6s. Expect much quicker times as the road clears.
WRC - Poland: Prokop is the first driver into the stage. His benchmark time at the halfway interval is 4m22.3s, but Solberg beats that by 0.8s.
MotoGP - Assen: The safety car sets off on its pre-race lap. The grid is formed up with everyone keeping their tyre warmers on until the last moment to avoid giving away their choices.
Breaking news
BTCC - Croft: A disappointed Rob Austin isn't sure he will make it out for qualifying this afternoon after his crash in second free practice.

We'll bring you more when we can.
MotoGP - Assen: Lorenzo parks his second bike in the pits and returns to his first bike on the grid.

So those two laps were effectively a very, very short practice session for riders to suss the conditions out.

Now they're reforming the grid and we'll get the race - which is still set to be its full 26-lap length - underway in a short while.

It's officially been declared a wet race by the officials - an obvious move but it needs to be done by the book to make pitstops possible.
WRC - Poland: Baranowo will also act as Sunday's power stage, so it'll be a great opportunity for the field to gain some experience and hopefully some points tomorrow.
MotoGP - Assen: Confirmation that Rossi and Pol Espargaro are both giving slicks a try at the moment.
MotoGP - Assen: Rossi looks like he's going to try his slick-shod bike for his second sighting lap.

Marquez, meanwhile, isn't bothering with his second lap!
MotoGP - Assen: The riders are out on their two additional sighting laps. Little, if any, spray on the track.
