IndyCar - Long Beach: And he does! Mike Conway greets the chequered flag to win at Long Beach for the second time in his career. It didn't take long for Ed Carpenter's decision to hire him for the road/street races to pay dividends.
Power is second, with Munoz, Montoya and Pagenaud completing the top five.

IndyCar - Long Beach: Dixon pits! Conway leads! He has to keep Power behind him for two laps in order to claim his second Long Beach win.
IndyCar - Long Beach: Two developments - we've had confirmation that Hinchcliffe suffered a sprained thumb in that accident, and Dixon has been told by the Ganassi pitwall that he's half a lap short on fuel.
IndyCar - Long Beach: Dixon is the only driver in the top three who has any push-to-pass left, and he's going to need them - Conway is all over the back of him. Given that he's already marginal on fuel, this sort of pressure is the last thing Dixon needs.

Conway has got around Power for third ... which becomes second when a clash between Dixon and Wilson ends with the Brit hitting the barriers. What a crazy race.

"I was on cold tyres; it's very hard to control the car. I knew Hunter-Reay was on hot, and at some point he was probably going to get me. But I didn't expect anyone to come up on the inside of four. There's so little room there, you normally can't make a pass, even if something like that is going on. I tried to give Hunter-Reay a little room and unless he got in there too hot and put a wing in ... and the next thing I knew I was in the wall and I was just getting plowed into by everyone.

IndyCar - Long Beach: Hunter-Reay's car rebounded into that of Castroneves after the intial impact. Helio's now back in 14th, but he's probably lucky to still be on the track.

IndyCar - Long Beach: OK, let's try to make sense of this. Newgarden emerged from his stop in the lead ahead of Hunter-Reay, and the Andretti driver tried to regain the lead with a poorly-judged move at Turn 4.
The pair ended up in the wall, leaving Hinchcliffe with nowhere to go. All three are eliminated, as are Sato, Kanaan and Hawksworth, who were unable avoid the wreckage.
Power and Conway skipped through the chaos unscathed and are will be first and second when Dixon and Wilson pit.

IndyCar - Long Beach: Power and Castroneves pit and put on a set of new reds. This could get interesting. Hunter-Reay pits next lap around.
MotoGP - Austin: Yamaha confirms that it was severe front tyre wear that caused Valentino Rossi to slide from fighting for third to finishing eighth.
"We destroyed the front tyre completely on the right side. I had the same problem during the weekend but less than this.
"This morning we made a good step and with a used tyre I could do all the warm up so we were quite positive.
"Unfortunately after seven or eight laps the front was gone and I had to go three seconds slower."

IndyCar - Long Beach: On previous restarts, Hunter-Reay was able to open a quick gap, but this time around is a different story: Hinchcliffe is right on his tail, and in their mirrors Power is all over Newgarden in third.

IndyCar - Long Beach: While Rahal serves his penalty, it's time to revisit the top order. Hunter-Reay leads Hinchcliffe by 0.6s, and Newgarden is a similar distance back in third ahead of Power and Castroneves.
IndyCar - Long Beach: Drive-through confirmed for Rahal, no action for Power. A career in race officiating beckons.
IndyCar - Long Beach: If asked to bet on the outcome of the investigations into the two incidents, we'd tip a penalty for Rahal, who fairly blatantly tipped Wilson around. The Power/Pagenaud one is more ambiguous, as it looked like Pagenaud might not have been aware that Power was coming up the inside when he turned into the corner.
One man who DOES have a penalty is Bourdais, who is serving a drive-through for receiving service in a closed pit.

IndyCar - Long Beach: Wilson was spun in the hairpin by Rahal, and a few moments later Pagenaud was tipped into the wall by Power. Both drivers managed to continue, although Pagenaud has to return to the pits for damage. The incidents are under review, and the race is still under green.

IndyCar - Long Beach: Hunter-Reay dives into the pits, and moments later Bourdais ruins a good weekend of work by sticking his car into the tyres at Turn 8. He's able to get back to the pits for a new nose, but his chances of winning are gone.
IndyCar - Long Beach: A great scrap between Munoz and Montoya for P10 is settled in Montoya's favour, but Munoz really made his veteran compatriot work for the place. JPM is the only Penske driver making any sort of progress at the moment. Power and Castroneves have both pitted for red tyres in the last couple of laps to see whether they can find some extra pace.

MotoGP - Austin: Ducati says Cal Crutchlow's injury from that crash was a dislocated little finger on his right hand.

IndyCar - Long Beach: Thanks in part to that bit of opportunism, Montoya is currently the biggest mover of the race, having climbed from 16th to 12th.
Up at the front, Hunter-Reay has a 3.2s lead over Bourdais, while Pagenaud and Hinchcliffe are squabbling over third.

IndyCar - Long Beach: In the mid-pack, there's a fairly robust battle going on between Penske team-mates Will Power and Helio Castroneves. They bang wheels, and lose just enough momentum for the third Penske of Montoya to pass both of them.

IndyCar's pair of two-seaters are leading the pace cars during the installation laps, one with Arie Luyendyk driving and Winter Olympian Steven Holbcomb on board, and the other with Mario Andretti giving a ride to Roger Daltrey. We've just had word that Mario has spun.
