More than a tenth of the race is already in the books, polesitter Simon Pagenaud continues to lead.
Simon Pagenaud is pulling away from Ed Carpenter. It looks as if Carpenter is saving fuel and playing the long game.
The race is settling into a briefly calm pattern now. We're on lap 18 of the 200.

It's a Penske 1-2 and ECR 3-4 now, with Carpenter and Pigot hanging in behind Pagenaud and Power, then there's a gap to Newgarden in fifth. He has Rossi and Bourdais battling behind him.
Power attacked Pagenaud to the outside immediately after passing Carpenter, but Pagenaud managed to stay just ahead. His lead is now 0.3s.

Back to green, and Power jumps Carpenter for second immediately.

A handful of drivers are taking the chance to roll the dice with an early pitstop under this yellow, Marco Andretti and Felix Rosenqvist among them.

Herta's car is going to need a tow, and that brings out the race's first full course yellow.
Reports from the pitlane suggest Herta has a gearbox problem.
Pagenaud and Carpenter have made a slight break in first and second from Power and Pigot's big battle behind.

Early drama for the young sensation Colton Herta - his car slows and he pits already!
The biggest wheel to wheel dice of the opening laps was around the teens, with Marco Andretti dropping back to 19th and Scott Dixon up to 15th.
Carpenter now pressuring Pagenaud for the lead, as Pigot attacks Power for third.
Mostly single file in the early laps, with Pagenaud holding a 0.1526s lead over Carpenter.
It's Pagenaud leading from Carpenter, Power, Pigot, Newgarden, Herta and Rossi at the end of lap one.
