Lap 112 - Rossi looks to pass Pagenaud for second but backs out.
Santino Ferrucci makes a bold move on Tony Kanaan at pit exit. The former Formula 2 driver is currently 11th.
The Hondas seem to be managing fuel much better than the Chevrolets. Sebastien Bourdais has jumped right into the top-five battle. Meanwhile Scott Dixon is putting in an extended stint here and still hasn't made his third stop.
Rossi's hard work managing fuel was undone in the pits by... the fuel hose. His Andretti Autosport crew couldn't get the hose into the car right away.
Lap 108 - Rossi finally pits, but he had to manage his way through traffic on his in lap.
Lap 104 - Alexander Rossi leads. He looks more comfortable on fuel mileage than any other frontrunners.
Josef Newgarden is in and has yet more front wing adjustments.
Speaking of pit stops, Carpenter is now in on lap 101. No changes to the car, just tyres and fuel.
At the halfway point, Ed Carpenter leads but pit stops are ongoing.
Lap 99 - Simon Pagenaud pits from the lead once again. He's still running short on fuel, but only by a lap now.
Daly's run is impressive, and his car certainly has a good history around Indianapolis. It's the same chassis Ryan Hunter-Reay won the race in back in 2014.
Scott Dixon has had a relatively quiet day so far. He's currently eighth, one spot behind Conor Daly who is making a one-off return for the Indy 500.
The United States' superstars Josef Newgarden and Alexander Rossi are currently scrapping over third.
Fellow rookies Marcus Ericsson and Santino Ferrucci are having a better day. They're currently running in ninth and 12th respectively.
It's not been a good day for the rookies. Herta and Hanley are out, and King is fighting back from a pit lane error and penalty.
At the back Helio Castroneves makes it past Marco Andretti for 28th place.
Ed Carpenter is catching Pagenaud. Pagenaud is two laps short of being able to get to the end of the race on a three-stop strategy. Carpenter is in a more comfortable position fuel-wise
Green flag
Lap 80 - Simon Pagenaud leads the field to the green.
Will Power will be moved to the back of the field for hitting his crew during his last stop. It was close...

Felix Rosenqvist, as with the first round of stops, was waiting until late to stop when the yellow came out. This caution period could play into his hands.
Yellow flag
The second yellow flag of the day is out for Kyle Kaiser.
The man who knocked Alonso out of the race, is now out himself.
Crash
Kyle Kaiser has lost it in turn two.
Crash
Jordan King appears to have hit a member of his pit crew as well. The safety crew is on the scene, it looks like a leg injury for the crew member.
Will Power overshoots his pit stall and hits some of his crew. He could receive a penalty for that
Carpenter got ahead of Power for second a couple of laps ago, and he now assumes what is likely to be a temporary lead after Pagenaud's stop.
Pit stop
The second round of green flag pitstops are beginning, with runaway leader Pagenaud among the first in again.
James Hinchcliffe has a love/hate relationship with the Indy 500. Today it's looking like the former. He's made more passes than any other driver so far.
The Brit pits, and it appears to be a bit more than dirty tyres. Driveshaft issues look to be the case.
Crash
Lap 57 - Ben Hanley slows after being forced onto the dirty line by Ed Jones.
Handling issues are persisting for Andretti. He's currently a lap down in 29th place. Looks like the 'Andretti Curse' still hangs over the Indianapolis 500.

125 miles down, 375 to go. Pagenaud leads from Power, Carpenter, Newgarden, and Rossi.

Scott Dixon - P11
Tony Kanaan - P12
Ryan Hunter-Reay - P16
Helio Castroneves - P30
Takuma Sato - P31

Crash
A drive-through penalty for Castroneves after his coming together with Davison.
After pitting twice, Marco Andretti is currently 31st of the 32 runners. He is not happy with his car at all.
