Valencia - GP3: The times are tumbling now. Facu Regalia, no doubt spurred on by the massive Argentinian flag above the pit boxes, goes P1 on 1m22.603s.

MotoGP - Barcelona: Nobody gets near Pedrosa as the flag falls, but Crutchlow responds to Lorenzo taking second place from him by stealing it back at the death.
Qualifying result: 1 Pedrosa; 2 Crutchlow; 3 Lorenzo; 4 Bautista; 5 Hayden; 6 Marquez; 7 Rossi; 8 Iannone; 9 Dovizioso; 10 Bradl.

DTM-Lausitz: Paffett is the first man to dip below the magic 1m18s barrier in Q1, the Mercedes man knocking team-mate Vietoris off the top spot. With less than four minutes remaining the drivers ripe for elimination are: Jucadella, Wittmann, Tomczyk, Glock, Priaulx and Hand - five out of six of them in BMWs!
Valencia - GP3: Oh, there you are Aaro! As AUTOSPORT was scanning the times trying to find his name, suddenly it pops up at the top of the charts out of nowhere. His 1m22.780s is 0.043s faster than Daniil Kvyat.
Stopwatch
MotoGP - Barcelona: Pedrosa has just beaten Casey Stoner's 2008 lap record by nearly three tenths of a second. The Spaniard is 0.7s clear of the rest of the field with two minutes to go.
Crash
Valencia - GP3: The good news for Tio Ellinas is he's up to third fastest; the bad news is he's just been rattling through the gravel at Turn 12. He escapes.
Valencia - GP3: Current poleman Kvyat lowers his own benchmark - by just 0.038s! This boy is consistent. Robert Visoiu is just 0.082s slower in second.
DTM-Lausitz: Qualifying is underway and Green and Molina instantly make it an Audi 1-2. Q1 is a 16-minute session from which the top 15 progress to Q2 and the slowest seven are eliminated.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Five minutes to go - 1 Pedrosa; 2 Crutchlow; 3 Lorenzo; 4 Marquez; 5 Dovizioso; 6 Rossi.
Valencia - GP3: First driver on the Turn 1 track limits naughty step is Carlos Sainz Jr. We suspect he won't be the last after what was said in the drivers' briefing.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Drama at Yamaha. Lorenzo aborts his first run, and he is very animated with his mechanics and engineers as he returns to the garage. While he is in the pits, Pedrosa goes quickest ahead of Crutchlow and Marquez.
Green flag
Valencia - GP3: The session restarts without Cullen. For the record, Daniil Kvyat is on provisional pole, with a 1m22.861s, but most people were still on warm-ups or their first flying lap when the reds flew.
Red flag
Valencia - GP3: Ryan Cullen gets it all wrong on the exit of Turn 1 and spins wildly into the gravel. Annoyingly for Manor, his team-mate Tio Ellinas was just leaving the pits when the red flags flew. Now he's sat in the baking sun, while everyone else is back in the pits.
Green flag
MotoGP - Barcelona: The bikes leave the pits for Q2, the session that will decide pole position.
The 12 riders fighting it out are: Lorenzo, Rossi, Pedrosa, Marquez, Crutchlow, Hayden, Dovizioso, Espargaro, Bradl, Bautista, Smith and Iannone.

Valencia - GP3: Points leader Tio Ellinas is a cool customer, one of only three cars not to get straight into the action.

Valencia - GP3: Thirty minutes of qualifying kicks off with the temperature at Circuit Ricardo Tormo officially 'scorchio!' Of the 27 cars present, most head out straight away.

MotoGP - Barcelona: That's the end of Q1. Those late laps from Smith and Iannone put them well clear of the rest of the field, and they now progress to Q2 with this morning's top 10.
Q1 result: 1 Smith; 2 Iannone; 3 de Puniet; 4 Pirro; 5 Barbera; 6 Edwards.

DTM - Lausitz: Question. What do you do if you happen to have an ex-Tora Takagi Reynard Champ Car lying around?
Answer: You turn it upside down and stick it on your ceiling of course. Crazy stuff in the circuit shop.
Stopwatch
MotoGP - Barcelona: Smith has just pulled out a quick lap to go fastest. Iannone was just a few seconds behind him on track and looked on course to go faster, but in the end he was 0.053s slower.
Iannone has half a second of an advantage over de Puniet, who is currently third.

MotoGP - Barcelona: So far it's looking good for the Pramac Ducati team, with Iannone and Pirro (on the factory development bike) holding those crucial top two spots. Smith is third, half a second adrift of Pirro.
Green flag

Bradley Smith
MotoGP - Barcelona: Q1 has started. The top two from this session will progress to Q2, where 12 riders will fight for pole.
Based on what we saw in practice this morning, the fight at the top of this session should be between Bradley Smith, Michele Pirro, Andrea Iannone and the CRT bike of Randy de Puniet.

MotoGP - Barcelona: That's the end of FP4. Dani Pedrosa leads the way, and he (along with the rest of the top 10 from FP3) can now sit out Q1 before fighting for pole in Q2.

Euro RX - Hell: Full-time drivers Timmy Hansen and Knut Ove Borseth both suffered suspension problems in free practice. Hansen Motorsport has repaired Hansen's DS3 already.
MotoGP - Barcelona: We're inside the final 10 minutes now, and the order at the front is: 1 Pedrosa; 2 Lorenzo; 3 Crutchlow; 4 Rossi; 5 Bradl.
Crash
MotoGP - Barcelona: Star CRT runner Aleix Espargaro has fallen at Turn 4. Fortunately for the Spaniard, his performance in free practice this morning means he has a bit of time to get himself sorted for qualifying as he does not have to take part in Q1.
Stopwatch
MotoGP - Barcelona: 10 of the 30 minutes down in FP4, and Dani Pedrosa leads the way. He's just posted a new best lap of 1m42.0s, which is around 0.2s shy of what Marc Marquez managed in FP3 this morning.
Green flag
MotoGP - Barcelona: FP4 is underway. Once the 30 minutes are up, it will be time for Q1, where two riders can earn places in Q2 to complete the top 12.
MotoGP - Barcelona: As the new-for-2013 qualifying is about to kick off with its FP4 segment, the news from Spain is that Hiroshi Aoyama will sit out the rest of the weekend due to injuries sustained in his crash in FP3. He will be replaced by Javier del Amor, who now has 30 minutes of track time to get up to speed before Q1.
MotoGP - Barcelona: So not too bad for Moto3 championship leader Maverick Vinales in the end. A heavy crash and an engine failure, and still fifth on the grid.
Luis Salom held off Alex Rins to take pole by 0.3s, with Miguel Oliveira completing the front row.
Marc Marquez's brother Alex is fourth, Maverick Vinales's cousin Isaac is seventh.

Breaking news

Augusto Farfus
DTM - Lausitz: Bad news for BMW driver Augusto Farfus. He's been given a five-place grid penalty for tomorrow's race because he used a set of tyres that were not in his allocation during practice this morning.
MotoGP - Barcelona: This is not turning out to be a good Moto3 qualifying session for Maverick Vinales.
Having got back out following his crash, his bike just erupted in a cloud of smoke with what looks like an engine failure.
No spare bikes in Moto3, so his session is over, but he's still hanging on to second on the grid next to Alex Rins.

MotoGP - Barcelona: Vinales is back out. He has a sore foot but is otherwise uninjured and now has a 0.2s gap to Rins to close down to get Moto3 pole back.
MotoGP - Barcelona: While Vinales still sits in the pits following his crash, Alex Rins pinches provisional Moto3 pole off him by 0.010s.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Big news in Moto3 so far this weekend has been the withdrawal of title contender Jonas Folger.
Currently fourth in the championship, the German injured his wrist in a motocross crash last week. He tried to compete in Spain but struggled in practice and is sitting out the rest of the weekend.

DTM - Lausitz: Here's one for the talent-spotters out there... Sixteen-year-old Sebastian Balthasar. He finished eighth in the F3 race just now, right on Nabil Jeffri's tail, despite running an FIA-spec Mercedes engine, not equipped with the overboost facility of the VW 'Power' engines used by most of the field. Very impressive. Jeffri's no slouch either; second in last year's JK Asia series.
Crash
MotoGP - Barcelona: A nasty moment for Moto3 championship leader Maverick Vinales early in qualifying.
Just after setting provisional pole on a 1m51.802s, Vinales crashed heavily on his next lap, shooting over the handlebars in a high-side.
He was unhurt and immediately got the bike going again and returned to the pits.

Championship leader Kirchofer dropped to fourth at the start, but passed Gustavo Menezes and Artem Markelov on laps eight and 18 respectively, each time at Turn 1, to take second. Markelov - second in the points - completed the podium.

DTM - Lausitz: The main support series here this weekend in German F3, and AUTOSPORT has just watched Brit Emil Bernstorff (a 2011 McLaren AUTOSPORT BRDC Award finalist no less) win the opening race of the weekend. He took the lead from (Motopark-run) Lotus team-mate Marvin Kirchofer at the start and led all the way.
