Rossi again outbrakes Pedrosa into Turn 1, then again the Honda sweeps through on the exit. Rossi comes closer than before to hanging onto it through Turn 2 but still Pedrosa is ahead. A lap and a half to go.

Approaching the penultimate lap, Rossi's running out of chances to take second, but he's good at these last-gasp efforts...

Still a spirited fight between Tomczyk, Juncadella, Ekstrom and Juncadella, who are disputing ninth through to 12th. Ekstrom will be looking to get past Juncadella at least to grab a last-minute point.

On the long back straight, Pedrosa surges away from Rossi, but the Yamaha catches right up through the following corners.

Further round they lap they swap again - Rossi through to second under braking, but Pedrosa answers back and retakes it at the next bend.

Rossi is much faster out of the final corner onto the short pits straight, he again takes second into Turn 1, but loses the place at Turn 2.

Further back, Wehrlein hasn't been able to pull away from Gotz and Rockenfeller, but if he can finish fifth he'll extend his championship lead to 37 points. He doesn't sound happy on the radio, but in essence he'll leave with one hand on the silverware.

If Lorenzo is bored while leading by 3.6s, he can hopefully see the Pedrosa/Rossi battle on a big screen somewhere - it's good stuff. Very tense.

Rossi has another go but can't make it through.

Molina's now five minutes away from his maiden DTM victory, he's 7.4s ahead of di Resta, who is comfortably ahead of Spengler.

Finally Rossi shoots past Pedrosa, but the Honda pinches it back at the next corner and silences the cheering crowd.

Rossi nearly gets alongside Pedrosa into the first corner, more a 'trying to spook him' effort than a proper pass.

Coming up to six laps to go and Rossi is much closer to Pedrosa around much of the circuit again as this battle for second rages on.

Spicy battle developing between Tech 3 team-mates Espargaro and Smith in eighth and ninth. They've both made minor mistakes in this race though, and that means they're at the back of the queue for fifth behind Dovizioso, Aleix Espargaro and Crutchlow.

Further back, Maverick Vinales is making solid progress on the second Suzuki. He didn't have the finest start and was running as low as 17th, but he's now back to 12th, trying to hunt down a battle between Hernandez and Redding.

Juncadella and Ekstrom had been looking to pass Farfus in the chicane, but Tomczyk pounced on the run to the final corner.
MotoGP
Let's give fourth-placed Iannone another nod - he's still only 2s behind Pedrosa and Rossi after 15 laps with a dislocated shoulder, and he's a massive 11s clear of Ducati team-mate Dovizioso - whose shoulders are all fully connected - in fifth.

Tomczyk, who started last and missed yesterday's race, us up to ninth, following strong moves on Ekstrom and Juncadella. Red mist?

Rockenfeller is closing the gap to Wehrlein again, he's 1.8s behind the Mercedes driver. They're both catching Gotz, who does as Juncadella did and steps out of the way to let Wehrlein past.

"It was a tough day because I'm ill but I'm very happy to finish the race and win this title," says new Formula Renault 3.5 Oliver Rowland. He becomes the first Briton to win the series.

Past half-distance and Lorenzo's lead has reached 3.3s. Rossi is, if anything, losing a bit of ground to Pedrosa ahead right now.

Smith runs wide at Turn 1 and drops back behind Aleix Espargaro and a surging Crutchlow. The three of them are trying to gang up on Dovizioso for fifth.

And Abraham's retirement means Elias is officially last runner again. That'll look a bit limp on paper, but he was beating some people till they retired.
