Speed Targets Rosberg

Q: You haven't been on the podium for a while - it must be nice to be back up there

Scott Speed: Yeah - we've been quite unlucky, and even here in qualifying we were unlucky. We've been quick all year, obviously, and with a bit of opportunity a win is severely overdue.

Q: All weekend you've been quite fast, and you've put a lot of pressure on guys in the race - yesterday with Adam Carroll and today with Olivier Pla - how much enjoyment have you got this weekend from being able to do that?

Speed: Yeah - from a driver's perspective it's impossible to pass here, so it's really about putting pressure on people to make a mistake - it's difficult to make positions here.

Q: How well do you rate your race today?

Speed: Perfectly - everything went exactly to plan. On the second lap I let Bruni and the leaders go and I was confident that I had a fast car, and sure enough I had a clear space and did fastest lap and got two points, and then I put pressure on the guys the whole race, and got by two of them.

Q: It was a conscious decision to get the fastest lap like that?

Speed: At the beginning, absolutely - I got on the radio and told them that I was going for fastest lap, and it worked out perfectly.

Q: And seven points throws you up nicely into the mix for the Championship.

Speed: Yeah - obviously with how everything's going for Heikki [Kovalainen] it's going to be difficult to catch him, but I think Rosberg should be a realistic goal to beat. That's how this Championship has been - there's a lot of luck involved, and with this whole inverse of eight it really tosses the Championship up.

Q: The team has been really quick this weekend - is it that they've managed to find something on the car?

Speed: We were quick in Magny Cours as well - we had a decent qualifying, but it wasn't the best, but we had a wheel nut stick on us and it cost us both races. We've been here the whole time - we've never been off.
