Razia to replace Zampieri at Rapax
Luiz Razia will replace Daniel Zampieri at the Rapax team for the GP2 Asia Series finale in Bahrain this weekend
The 20-year-old Brazilian, who is a test and reserve driver for Virgin's Formula 1 team, won last season's finale at Bahrain.
Zampieri, who has been signed up by Ferrari's young driver academy, is hoping to enter Formula Renault 3.5 in 2010 and will miss this weekend's GP2 finale to test at Jerez this week.
"These days have been extremely important in my career, and so many happenings forced me to make choices," said Zampieri. "I'm honoured to become part of the Ferrari Driver Academy project. I thank Rapax for having let me follow my new programme, and I wish all the team good luck. I really enjoyed the time spent with them."
Rapax boss Andrea Bergamini added: "We're really upbeat for the chance given to Zampieri, because it's really something prestigious and top-notch. We're pleased to have contributed to his growth and to have brought him to his first experience in an highly-valuable environment like GP2."
