Rahal forced to cancel GP2 test

Graham Rahal has been forced to miss his maiden test with a GP2 car with the DPR team after his flight from the USA was cancelled

The 17-year-old American, son of racing legend Bobby Rahal, was scheduled to take part in one of the two days of testing at the Paul Ricard circuit, which kicks off today.

The timing of the test demanded that Rahal travel directly from his Atlantics championship race at Cleveland to Europe. However, bad weather has left Rahal stranded in Georgia.

With Rahal needing a quick return to the US to race in the Indy Pro Series support race at the US Grand Prix, the teenager was unable to complete the trip and have remained in America.

"I'm a bit cheesed off - we sometimes complain about the weather in Europe, but I'm definitely not happy about it over here, especially as it's bright and sunny in France," said Rahal. "There's nothing to be done about it now, I'm sure it'll happen before too long.

"My apologies to Dave Price and the DPR Direxiv team, I hope we'll catch up at some point later this season. I'll just have to keep my spirits up and turn my attention to my other new driving experience, with the IPS car."
