Q & A with Scott Speed
Scott Speed (Second, 29 points)
Q. You've been a bit busy in your month off - how has it been for you?
SS: It's been quite good - obviously I've had a lot of valuable Formula One experience, and now it's time to put the GP2 hat on.
Q. It must have been great for you personally to get to be the third driver in Canada and at home in America.
SS: It was quite an experience - it was incredible! To drive a Formula One car in front of my home crowd, and to get the response that we got, was amazing - I wasn't expecting it.
Q. Did you get what you were hoping for from being there?
SS: Definitely - one hundred percent. I wanted to gain experience, and to try and give a good impression for my first time in a Formula One car (on a race weekend). It was cool!
Q. And you also had the GP2 test - how did that go for you?
SS: It was raining off and on all day, and I was kind of severely jetlagged because I flew over the night before and then went straight back, but it was good. We made some progress, which we didn't expect with the amount of time we had, but we did and that was fortunate.
Q. Did you have any time off at all over the month?
SS: I've really been in the Formula One car all the time - I tested on Friday at Jerez, and I spent the last week training on the bicycle - other than that it's been quite busy, and flying back and forth.
Q. And now you've got eight races ahead of you this month ...
SS: Yeah - obviously I hope the car is consistently up to where I can keep bringing points for the championship, and hopefully we've still got the same pace as we had before, and are still competitive.
