Perera breaks GP2 Barcelona record
Franck Perera set today the fastest ever GP2 time around Barcelona, on the second day of pre-season testing at the Spanish track
The DAMS driver produced the lap during the first hour of the test, as the morning conditions proved the most conducive to quick times.
Lewis Hamilton was fastest in the afternoon session, but he was over a second slower than Perera's 1:22.467 benchmark. His morning time was sufficient for third in the combined order, behind iSport's Ernesto Viso.
After going quickest yesterday, Nelson Piquet Jr. was only 11th overall today, although he had been second fastest to Hamilton in the afternoon.
Trident Racing's Andreas Zuber had to sit out most of the day after a heavy crash on his 19th lap in the morning. Zuber was unhurt, but his car could not be repaired in time to rejoin the test.
