No team orders at iSport
After claiming their first ever 1-2 in GP2 qualifying at Barcelona, iSport team principal Paul Jackson has made it clear that his drivers are free to race each other in today's feature race
Pole-sitter Timo Glock outpaced teammate Andreas Zuber by four tenths of a second in qualifying, but Zuber could have an advantage after running in full race set-up in free practice yesterday, while Glock concentrated on qualifying trim.
"There are no team orders here, they are free to race," said Jackson. "As testing showed, there's hardly a tenth between them.
"Andi had a slight downchange glitch, so we're going to change the throttle potentiometer ahead of the race, otherwise I think he would've been closer to Timo. They're both doing an excellent job."
Glock said: "When I saw Andi had done a 1:28.1, I knew that was a difficult target to beat. I did a nearly perfect lap to be four tenths in front of everyone. We're earned this and I'm really proud of the team."
Zuber added: "I was first for a long time but when I was told Timo had done a 1:27.7 I knew I'd have to push even harder, because that's a very quick time. I made a big mistake at the final chicane on my last lap, so that was it."
