Start- Watt takes the lead from Heidfeld. Gollin and Mauricio across the gravel. Justin Wilson was sandwiched between the Petrobras cars and could have a puncture, he is slowing and dropping back. Alex Yoong has spun off

Lap one- Watt leads Heidfeld, M.Wilson, Junqueira, Ayari. Junqueira has a broken front wing after his contact with Justin Wilson, he goes through the gravel at turn one

Lap four- Race order: Watt; Heidfeld; M.Wilson; Ayari; Saelens; Davies; McGarrity; Sarrazin; Gavin; Fontana; Walfisch; Montagny; van Hooydonk; Enge; Minassian; Simon; Terrien; Leinders; Pavicevic; Ruberti; Mauricio; Sauvage; Junqueira; Gollin; J.Wilson

Lap five- Minassian spins out of the chicane, Leinders pits to retire. Heidfeld closing on Watt

Lap six- Junqueira sets fastest lap but he is way behind the field after his front wing change

Lap seven- Heidfeld locks up and nearly slides into Watt as he looks on the way into the chicane

Lap nine- Walfisch is in the gravel and out of the race, possibly after contact

Lap 15- Heidfeld right on Watt's tail. Enge pits to retire after being hit by Terrien

Lap 16- Ruberti has a brief spin. Enge's suspension may already have been broken even before his contact with Terrien

Lap 24- Heidfeld 0.4s behind Watt and continually locking-up. Ruberti and Mauricio have both been off the road again more than once

Lap 25- Sarrazin spins out whle trying to pass McGarrity for seventh. The Frenchman rejoins at the back of the field

Lap 28- Watt and Heidfeld very close at the front, then Wilson running alone and well ahead of Ayari. Saelens is only just holding off Davies for fifth, then McGarrity is holding off Gavin, Fontana, Montagny and Terrien. Rest of the order: Van Hooydonk; Pavicevic; Mauricio; Sauvage; Simon; Junqueira; Sarrazin

Lap 33- Heidfeld still virtually attached to Watt and taking a look into turn one and the chicane on almost every lap. The German had briefly dropped back to cool his tyres

Race order- Watt; Heidfeld; M.Wilson; Ayari; Saelens; Davies; McGarrity; Fontana; Gavin; Montagny; Terrien; van Hooydonk; Pavicevic; Mauricio; Sauvage; Simon; Junqueira; Sarrazin; Gollin; Ruberti

Lap 43- Heidfeld goes down the outside at the chicane and noses ahead, only to slide across the grass and rejoin just behind Watt again

Lap 45- Three to go, Heidfeld nearly alongside again into turn one

Mauricio runs wide and spins back across the track into the tyre wall. His car is heavily damaged but the Brazilian is okay. His accident means that the Red Bull Junior Team will definitely not qualify for the 2000 season

Lap 48- Watt just holds off Heidfeld to take his second consecutive victory
