Kovalainen: Third was the Maximum
Q: Third today - are you happy with that?
Heikki Kovalainen: Well I'm not exactly happy - of course I wanted pole - but that was the maximum I could do today. I felt the lap had no mistakes, was clean, but just not quick enough today, to be honest.
Q: You didn't seem to have any problems - the time just wasn't there.
Kovalainen: In my opinion it was one of my best qualifying laps this year, but to be half a second behind tells you we're missing something. But I think we're going to be looking okay for the race - we're always a lot stronger in the race than in qualifying, so it's not a problem really.
Q: Are the boys going to be working hard tonight to see if they can find something?
Kovalainen: No, not really - I think there's no point to work now because we know that on used tyres in the race it will be fine - well, normally it's fine! We're just missing something a little bit in the qualifying, but it's not too much.
Q: And you've shown already this year that you can win from pretty much anywhere on the grid.
Kovalainen: Yeah - it no problem that way, and we'll just see if we get a good opportunity.
Q: Or you could just make another one of your blinding starts, like in Magny Cours.
Kovalainen: Sure, but even if we get stuck behind someone I think we'll have the strategy to move up, so we're not giving up - I think we've got a good chance to fight for a win tomorrow.
