Hamilton vows to fight for points
Lewis Hamilton has vowed to fight for every last point despite having to start from the back of the grid in tomorrow's GP2 feature event in Hungary
After his first GP2 crash in free practice, the championship leader's nightmare weekend continued when he spun on his first flying lap - at the same place as his early shunt - in qualifying.
As the engine stalled when he tried to get the car pointing the right way, he failed to set a time and will line up 26th and last on the grid.
"I've had better weekends!" said the Briton. "It was just a mistake on cold tyres. It's really unfortunate for the team because they did an amazing job to repair the car after this morning.
"But I won't go down without a fight and I'm going to try to get in the top eight. I think the car was good enough for top three for sure."
Hamilton's championship lead has been cut to 24 points after Nelson Piquet Jr qualified his Piquet Sports car on pole.
