Di Grassi: ART are still improving

Lucas di Grassi believes that reigning champions ART Grand Prix are still getting stronger as the GP2 season progresses

The Brazilian said at the start of the month that he was happy with the way the team had improved since the start of the season and, after the races at the Nurburgring last weekend, he thinks the French squad are closing the gap to iSport.

"At the beginning of the year iSport had a huge gap ahead of us," he said. "In Barcelona Timo (Glock) was really fast, but now it's much closer."

Di Grassi led the early stages of Saturday's race ahead of championship leader Glock, and he was pleased with how he was able to keep the German at bay until the pitstops.

"In the first half of the race, there was not a margin for Timo to attack on the first laps, so I'm pretty happy with how ART have been developing the car.

"I think we are much closer to iSport, and that's good for the championship to try and get as close as possible."

Di Grassi is now seven points behind Glock in the championship, but he has stretched his advantage over Luca Filippi to 11 points.
