Conway to test for Arden this week

British Formula Three champion Mike Conway will kick off his winter testing programme in GP2 with Arden International this week

The 23-year-old had set his sights on testing over the winter after making his debut in the series at Silverstone this year, but only finalised his plans last week.

After testing with Arden at Paul Ricard, Conway will drive for iSport at Jerez next month, before teaming up with reigning champions ART for the December test at Valencia.

"I'm just aiming to learn from each day that I do and just get a really good feel for the car," said Conway. "I've had a bit of time in the car, which is helpful ahead of the first test following straight on from F3.

"Hopefully I can really get on top of the car and learn some new circuits. I'm looking forward to testing with the teams, hopefully we'll do a good job."

Conway concluded his British F3 season with his worst weekend of the year, where he suffered his first retirement of the season and could only manage a fourth place in race two, but he wasn't too disappointed.

"We wanted to finish with a win but it's ok, because obviously the job is done," he said. "It was done at Silverstone and this weekend was not such an important one.

"Now I'm just looking to get as much experience as possible this year because if we do GP2 next year then it will put us in a good position."
