Bruni Rues Missed Win
Gimmi Bruni was pleased with second in Monaco but felt slightly disappointed that he wasn't able to convert what he thought would be a sure win in the principality
When asked if second in the famous race was satisfying, he noted: "For sure it was good, but when you have the car to win it's a shame. Lapierre and Negrao blocked me just before my pitstop, and that was the difference.
"But second is good, even if first would have been better."
Bruni came out of the pits just behind Carroll, and despite pushing hard for the remainder of the race there was just no room to get by for the win.
Nonetheless second helps him in his championship battle: "For sure - there's only one point in the championship now, which makes it exciting."
The Italian is now looking forward to the next round, where he has a lot of prior form: "Nurburgring is my favourite circuit. I won there in Formula 3000 and Formula Renault ahead of Pizzonia, so I'm really looking forward to it."
