Pietro Fittipaldi takes Monza World Series race one pole position
Pietro Fittipaldi topped the first Formula V8 3.5 qualifying session at Monza in mixed conditions, which led to an incident-packed conclusion to the session

The Lotus driver, who won both races at the Silverstone season opener but then was only sixth and eighth at Spa, took his fourth pole in five qualifying sessions.
The track had become dry enough for slicks after a damp start, but it started to rain during the closing stages, causing Rene Binder to crash at Parabolica, while points leader Alfonso Celis Jr and Nelson Mason both went off too.
That led to a red flag to end the session, leaving Fittipaldi on top ahead of Roy Nissany.
Fittipaldi's team-mate Rene Binder was second for much of the session, but after he failed to improve with his second effort, he slipped back to third place just ahead of Matevos Isaakyan.
Yu Kanamaru brought a second RP car into the top five, while Egor Orudzhev was sixth quickest, almost a second off the pace.
Celis was seventh, as Fortec completed a low-key session with Diego Menchaca only 10th.
Between the Mexican duo, Damiano Fioravanti and Konstantin Tereschenko were eighth and ninth respectively.
Mason and Giuseppe Cipriani, who didn't return to the track for the second part of the session, rounded out the 12-car field.
