Second Macau Grand Prix win means a lot, says Felix Rosenqvist
Felix Rosenqvist says that his second Macau Grand Prix win means as much to him as the one he took in last year's race
The Swede held off Charles Leclerc to become only the second driver - after Audi DTM pilot Edoardo Mortara - to take two wins in the Macau GP since it switched to Formula 3 rules in 1983.
"It gets better every time I guess," said Rosenqvist. "I don't see it as any different to my last win - it's just as good.
"Even if you have done all the preparation you can, you still have to put it together on the track. You also need luck."
Rosenqvist said the key to his win was his pace in the early laps, for which the Prema Powerteam squad had gone aggressive on set-up.
"It was really strong in the first couple of laps, so even if Charles passed me on the first lap I was comfortable I could repass him.
"My tyres were worse at the end and he caught up - one mistake and he would have been there. It was a tough race."
Leclerc added: "Felix was really fast and it was probably not possible to stay in front. I managed to catch up but it was not enough."
The future remains unclear for Rosenqvist, who clinched the Formula 3 European Championship in September.
He is hopeful of taking part in the GP2 Series post-season official test at Yas Marina with Prema, which announced recently it was expanding into the series.
But an opportunity to drive in the imminent Super Formula series test has fallen through and he is not at the front of the queue to test a DTM car for Mercedes, which has backed him in F3 since 2011.
