Qualifying: Carbone blitzes the pack
Brazil's Fabio Carbone dominated qualifying for Sunday's Formula 3 International Challenge race at Silverstone which supports the British GP
While the next four cars were separated by less than a tenth of a second, Carbone held almost nine-tenths over them in his Fortec-run, Renault-powered Dallara. His team-mate Heikki Kovalainen was second fastest, ahead of series leader James Courtney (Carlin).
Promatecme's Bruce Jouanny was fourth fastest, ahead of Brands Hatch dominator Robbie Kerr (ADR). Mark Taylor led Manor Motorsport's fight back from a disappointing Brands weekend with the sixth fastest time, ahead of Carlin's Michael Keohane.
Robert Dahlgren led the Scholarship Class, two-tenths clear of Sweeney Racing team-mate Adam Carroll.
