Qual 2: Green on pole

Jamie Green continued his impressive Formula 3 Euroseries form by setting pole position for race two at the Norisring, despite it being his first ever visit to the unique street circuit

With the hard Kumho tyres taking 10 or so laps to come up to their optimum temperature, the 30-minute session was effectively divided into two long qualifying runs. After the first of these Green was languishing down in the unfamiliar surroundings of the midfield. However, he was electric on his second run, and fended off a strong challenge from ASM team-mate Alexandre Premat to hold onto his third pole of the year and a vital championship point.

The short, three-corner Norisring is perfect for creating close racing and Premat was just over two hundredths off Green's time. Third went to Robert Kubica in the Mucke Motorsport car. The Pole was a race-winner here last year and set the pace in practice, he was on the pace throughout the session

French PREMA driver Franck Perera lines up fourth ahead of Lewis Hamilton who had a strong session for Manor and will start fifth for what promises to be a close and exciting race.
