Marco Sorensen claims first Euro Series victory on his debut weekend

Marco Sorensen claimed his maiden F3 Euro Series on his first weekend in the series

Starting from second under the reverse-grid format, Sorensen pinched the lead from Motorpark's Kimiya Sato away from the line and protected it until the chequered flag, which came after just eight laps of racing due to an early safety car.

That was brought about by a problem for HS Engineering's Alon Day, who was stuck in gear in his start bay and had to be wheeled into the pit lane.

Prema rounded out the podium with Daniel Juncadella finishing second ahead of runaway championship leader and race one winner Roberto Merhi - the Spaniard fighting his way through from eighth to third.

Juncadella's hopes of finishing runner-up in the championship were boosted as his main rival for the position, Signature's Marco Wittmann, fell to 11th at the start and could only recover one place.

Mucke Motorsport's Felix Rosenqvist also lost ground at the start, but fought back three places to claim seventh.

Kimiya Sato (Motorpark) finished fourth ahead of the Signature duo of Daniel Abt and Laurens Vanthoor.
