Lloyd signs for ADR
Alex Lloyd, the 2003 McLaren AUTOSPORT BRDC Award winner, has signed to drive for Alan Docking Racing in the 2004 British Formula 3 Championship.
Lloyd, 19, who was runner-up in the 2003 Formula Renault Championship believes ADR is the right team to launch his Formula 3 career.
"It's great to finally have a contract signed for this year, especially with a team like ADR," he said. "They have proven their quality by taking the Championship in 2002, my aim is to bring it back to the team in 2004. Now everything is falling into place for this year, I have a great team to work with, confidence in my abilities and we are gaining support from the Isle of Man."
Team principal Alan Docking commented: "I'm thrilled to have Alex on board, if he can carry over his form from last year then I believe we can achieve great things this season. He impressed our engineers when he tested the car at the end of last year and it has been a goal of mine to get him back in one of my cars for the 2004 campaign."
Lloyd will get his first run in the Dallara Mugen-Honda car on Tuesday at Brands Hatch.
