Jarvis takes Mugello pole for race 1
Oliver Jarvis has kept up his good form by taking pole position for this afternoon's first British F3 Championship race at Mugello in Italy
Last year's McLaren Autosport Award winner will start alongside teammate Christian Bakkerud.
Both practice and qualifying have shown Carlin to have an edge on the championship's first visit to the Tuscan track.
Championship leader Mike Conway struggled for once: he is almost half a second off the pace in third place. His teammate Bruno Senna is really in trouble though, down in eleventh.
Jarvis' success this morning gives him the faintest glimmer of hope for catching Conway in the points battle.
Conway could wrap up the title this weekend, but not in the first race. If things don't go well this evening, Jarvis has a chance to prolong the fight beyond tomorrow's second race.
Rodolfo Gonzalez (T-Sport) will start ahead of Cristiano Morgado (Fluid Motorsport) in the National Class.
