Hockenheim European F3: Raffaelle Marciello dominates practice

Ferrari protege Raffaele Marciello dominated Formula 3 European Championship practice at Hockenheim on Friday

The championship leader topped both sessions at the German circuit, setting the best time of 1m33.941 in FP2 in his Prema Powerteam Dallara Mercedes.

A surprising second fastest was Daniil Kvyat, who is making his category debut with Carlin this weekend. The Red Bull junior driver was less than a tenth of a second slower than Marciello.

Kvyat's Carlin team-mate Jordan King was third fastest with Ma-con's Sven Muller and Prema's Lucas Auer completing the top five.

Felix Rosenqvist was second fastest in FP1, the Mucke Motorsport driver's time standing as his best of the afternoon. He fell to sixth overall as others improved later on.

Fortec duo Felix Serralles and Josh Hill were next up, ahead of Silverstone race-winner Harry Tincknell and Alex Lynn.

Dennis van de Laar repeatedly locked his front wheels coming into the Sachs Kurve and was one of three drivers black-flagged for exceeding track limits. Michael Lewis and Josh Hill were the others.
