Guerreri leads all-Manor front row
Manor Motorsport backed up their strong winter testing form by taking the front row for the season's first Formula Three Euroseries race tomorrow
But it was Argentine driver Esteban Guerreri who took the fastest time ahead of his more fancied teammate Kohei Hirate.
ASM's best driver was neither Paul di Resta (fifth) nor Sebastian Vettel (seventh), both of whom looked edgy today. Rather, it was F3 veteran Giedo van der Garde who put in the best performance for the champion team.
The Dutchman will line up third for tomorrow's race. He'll be alongside Manor's third driver - Kazuki Nakajima.
Guerreri and Hirate both made the best use of the space Hockenheim affords, finding themselves a quiet moment to put in a quick lap. Vettel and several others fell into unnecessary squabbles for track position and paid the price.
But the Manor pair's form in qualifying was no fluke, as they had also headed the times in morning practice.
The first race takes place tomorrow afternoon.
