Green's day in France

Jamie Green won the 11th round of the Formula 3 Euro Series at Magny-Cours in France on Saturday to extend his lead at the head of the championship

Poleman Green was beaten off the line by ASM team-mate Alexandre Premat, who blatantly jumped the start. Premat led until a Safety Car period to retrieve Katsuyuki Hiranaka's stranded car, which was wedged against the wall opposite the pits.

Premat observed his drive-through as the Safety Car appeared, but drove through a red light at the end of the pit lane, which earned him another drive-through. He decided to park his car after that, and said: "There is no point in driving to finish 24th or something like that."

Green jumped well clear of Eric Salignon at the restart, and pulled away to score another dominant win. Behind Salignon, Loic Duval scored his second podium finish of the season in third, ahead of Alex Margaritis, who got the better of an excellent scrap with Bruno Spengler. Nico Rosberg finished sixth after overcoming the challenge of Roberto Streit.

It wasn't such a good day for the other British drivers. Tom Kimber-Smith went out after a first corner clash broke his suspension, while Lewis Hamilton was pushed into a spin on a straight.
