Felipe Nasr reckons wet practice in Macau hurt Carlin's chances

The Carlin driver finished second behind Daniel Juncadella, and reckoned his chances of overhauling his rival was limited because he did not have enough speed in the city section of the track.

"It was a very difficult race for everyone," said the Brazilian. "We changed positions many times during many safety car restarts. Every time at the restart I had the chance to get into the lead, but congratulations to Daniel - I think he did a very good job and he kept it out of the wall.

"We know he is very quick around here because, if you want to pull a gap and break the tow, you need to push a lot, so he did quite a good job with that.

"We were still struggling with the speed and I would say that was because we did not have enough time in the dry sessions here. We know Prema and Signature were the favourite cars here to contend for the win, but at least I was on the podium. That was my target and I feel very happy for that."

Nasr believed he had one chance to overtake Juncadella, on the lap 10 safety car restart, but his hopes were finished a lap later when the safety car came out following a big crash suffered by Kevin Magnussen.

"The lap the safety car came in, I was very, very close to Daniel - that was the one when I had the chance," he said. "It was a shame I didn't have it, but anyway it happens - everything happens here."
