Facu Regalia quickest as GP3 Hungaroring test concludes

The Argentinian set a 1m32.341s with five minutes remaining of a morning session beset by changeable weather conditions.

Day one pacesetter Kevin Korjus topped the timesheets early on a damp track for the Koiranen team, before Bamboo-engineering's Melville McKee broke the 1m33s barrier just before mid-session, when showers hit.

With 15 minutes to go track conditions began to improve and the rain held off long enough for dry running before the end of the session.

Carlin's Nick Yelloly and Bamboo's Lewis Williamson both broke the 1m32s barrier on new Pirelli rubber, but neither could match Regalia, who ended the morning on top.

The afternoon session featured a flurry of early activity when the track was dry, with Koiranen's Aaro Vainio setting the quickest time before the red flags came out for heavy rain on the circuit.

After a 35-minute stoppage track conditions improved but remained damp, catching out Regalia and Carlin's Eric Lichtenstein, both of whom brought out further red flags.

Manor's Ryan Cullen brought the test to a premature close after clipping the guardrail shortly before the session's planned end.
