Dillmann loses front-row grid spot

Tom Dillmann has lost his front row grid slot for the first Formula 3 Euro Series race of the weekend at Hockenheim after his car failed scrutineering after qualifying

The HBR Motorsport driver produced one of the shocks of the season to qualify second on the grid behind Jules Bianchi on Friday evening, but he has been dropped to the back of the grid after the stewards deemed that his car did not conform with the technical regulations.

Penalties were handed out to nine other drivers as well, although unlike Dillmann the offenders have only had certain laps taken away from them.

Officials have yet to clarify the reasons for these additional penalties, which have changed the grid considerably in the middle of the pack.
