Abt ends Lausitz test on top
Daniel Abt set the pace on the second and final day of F3 Euro Series testing at Lausitz in Germany
The Signature driver's 1m17.735s lap in his Dallara-Volkswagen was around 0.6s quicker than Nigel Melker had managed on the opening day, and came during the slightly faster morning session, as his afternoon was wrecked by a clutch problem.
"Finally I'm back at the very top of a ranking," said the 18-year-old German. "We had run out of fresh tyres anyway [by the afternoon] and in addition, we had nearly completed our scheduled programme."
Dutchman Melker was again fast, the Mucke Motorsport driver quickest during the afternoon and only 0.021s slower than Abt in his Mercedes-engined Dallara.
Laurens Vanthoor was a much-improved third for Signature with Daniel Juncadella the best of the Prema drivers in fourth.
Felix Rosenvist (Mucke) was next up, out-pacing championship leader Roberto Merhi and the Spaniard's Prema team-mate Gianmarco Raimondo.
The top 10 was completed by Marco Wittmann (Signature), Kimiya Sato and Jimmy Eriksson (both Motopark).
