Schlegelmilch wins Nurburgring race 2

Latvia's Harald Schlegelmilch won his and HS Technik team's first-ever victory in the Formula Three Euroseries at the Nurburgring on Sunday

Schlegelmilch led from pole and held off race-long pressure from championship leader Romain Grosjean (ASM).

Grosjean actually got his nose briefly ahead at the final corner with eight laps to go, but Schlegelmilch held on around the outside, and although they crossed the start/finish line side-by-side, Schlegelmilch held on at Turn 1.<.p>

From then, Schlegelmilch kept Grosjean at bay to win by three-tenths of a second. Sebastien Buemi (Mucke) finished third, meaning Grosjean now leads the series by six points.

Yesterday's winner Nico Hulkenberg (ASM) was a surprisingly subdued fourth, although he did make a couple of attempts to pass Buemi while Schlegelmilch was battling with Grosjean, to no avail.

Dani Clos (Signature) was a distant fifth, ahead of Yelmer Buurman, who had a great dice with Manor Motorsport teammate James Jakes and Renger van der Zande (Prema).
