Grosjean quickest in Monaco practice

Championship leader Romain Grosjean set the pace in this morning's practice session for the Monaco race

The Frenchman, who won the first race of the season in Spain two weeks ago, posted a best time of 1m21.267 to finish nearly two tenths of a second ahead of Lucas di Grassi.

The Brazilian Racing Engineering driver, one of the favourites for the championship, is hoping to kick-start his title challenge this weekend after failing to score any points in the first round.

Grosjean's session was not completely trouble-free, however, as he made contact with Davide Valsecchi at the Rascasse corner.

Luca Filippi was third fastest in the Super Nova car, but the Italian was nearly a full second off Barwa Adda driver Grosjean.

His team-mate Vitaly Petrov and ART Grand Prix's Pastor Maldonado completed the top five.
