Hernandez joins Trident for Valencia
Spanish driver Sergio Hernandez will drive for Trident Racing in the final GP2 race of 2007 at Valencia next weekend
Hernandez previously raced in the GP2 series for Campos Racing in 2005 and Durango in 2006, and has raced a BMW for Scuderia Proteam Motorsport in this year's World Touring Car Championship.
"Having the chance to get back behind the wheel of an open-wheel car in the GP2 Series is a dream coming true, as my main goal has always been to reach Formula One and there's no better way to do it than having a try in GP2," said Hernandez.
Trident's team principal Alessandro Alunni Bravi commented on Hernandez's signing: "In the two years he spent in the GP2 Series, I always known and appreciated Hernandez for being a highly professional driver, very fast but also very nice and positive in human relationships.
"It seemed a natural choice for me to rely on him for his home race at Valencia; I'm sure he'll be able to compensate the long absence with track knowledge.
"I hope that all the fans of Sergio will reach us on-track, supporting the 'Comunitat Valenciana' car."
