Hamilton makes it double win
Lewis Hamilton became the second man to ever do a GP2 double, by winning the sprint race at Nurburgring
From eighth on the grid, his task was made slightly easier when Ernesto Viso and Alex Premat stalled on the formation lap.
But Hamilton's drive in the race was stunning, passing long-time leader Hiro Yoshimoto for the lead into Turn 1 with seven laps remaining.
Yoshimoto lost a hard-fought podium when he made a mistake at Turn 4, allowing Nicolas Lapierre (another one of Hamilton's Turn 1 scalps) and Jose Maria Lopez (ditto) to gain places.
Adam Carrol ran as high as third but dropped back during the race to fifth. Michael Ammermuller grabbed the final point to cap a strong race for Arden.
Championship leader Nelson Piquet Jr made an impressive start from 20th to run 12th at the end of the opening lap and drove a charger race to storm up to seventh. But any hopes of a point ended when he stopped on the final lap.
