Zonta on Top at Paul Ricard - Day One

Brazilian Ricardo Zonta set the pace on the first day of testing at the Paul Ricard circuit in France, where two teams got back to work following the Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday.

Brazilian Ricardo Zonta set the pace on the first day of testing at the Paul Ricard circuit in France, where two teams got back to work following the Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday.

On a cold and cloudy day, The Toyota test driver worked with the Japanese squad's TF103, completing a total of 108 laps around the short version of the French circuit. Olivier Panis was also in action for the Toyota team, the Frenchman finishing as fourth fastest.

German Ralf Schumacher was second quickest after covering 81 laps at the wheel of the Williams FW25. The Grove-based outfit, who failed to score any points at Sunday's Brazilian Grand Prix, worked also with Spaniard Marc Gene, who was also driving an FW25.

Testing continues tomorrow, when the McLaren and BAR teams are scheduled to join.
