Paul Ricard day 1: Zonta fastest
Toyota test driver Ricardo Zonta set the pace on the opening day of testing at the Paul Ricard circuit today (Tuesday), despite completing a massive 108 laps of running at the French circuit
Williams driver Ralf Schumacher was second fastest, with a best lap 0.178s slower than the Brazilian. Only two teams were in action at the circuit, with Marc Gene and Olivier Panis also in action for their respective teams.
McLaren and BAR are due to begin running at the circuit tomorrow

Ferrari began testing at the Mugello circuit in Italy today, with both Luca Badoer and Felipe Massa in action for the team, both driving the new F2003-GA. The team was concentrating on development work for the San Marino Grand Prix, where the new car is scheduled to make its debut.
Badoer was the quicker of the two, setting a fastest lap of 1m21.128s during 55 laps of running. Massa completed 76 laps, with a fastest time of 1m21.682s
Sauber began a private two-day test at Monza today, with Nick Heidfeld in action for the team. He completed 79 laps, setting a fastest time of 1m23.605s. The team focussed on tyre development and testing new aerodynamic parts.
