Williams Praises Ralf's Consistency

Williams-BMW team principal Sir Frank Williams believes German driver Ralf Schumacher has found the necessary consistency to wrestle the Drivers' Championship from brother Michael.

Williams-BMW team principal Sir Frank Williams believes German driver Ralf Schumacher has found the necessary consistency to wrestle the Drivers' Championship from brother Michael.

Two wins in a row for Ralf - and two one-two results for Williams - have left the German driver 11 points behind five-times champion Michael in the Drivers' Championship heading to the British Grand Prix.

Ralf has finished in the points in every race this season and has gained 28 points in the last three races with two victories and a second place to move into real contention for the Championship.

Williams, who together with technical director Patrick Head sent Schumacher a letter of encouragement earlier in the season, said: "Ralf has found a level of focus and consistency that will bring him success if he is able to keep it."

Schumacher led from pole to flag in a composed and dominant victory which has epitomised his season and he is now showing the pace to match his consistent finishing performance.

He made a small mistake at the end of the race and went wide but Williams added: "It was almost flawless except for Ralf's little moment. It was a fantastic result and a great performance by the whole team."
