Williams go home early after crash

Test driver Kazuki Nakajima crashed heavily on the first day of work, forcing the team to fly in new parts to continue testing on Tuesday, but rain on the second day meant little was achieved then too.

German driver Nico Rosberg destroyed the car again today, after he went off at turn 7 and crashed heavily against the wall, tearing off the whole right side of the FW27.

As a consequence of the second crash, the team have decided to pack up early and skip tomorrow's final session.

"Nico went on a kerb a bit too much just before the corner and there did not seem to be much rubber on that kerb, possibly from the rain yesterday, and that was it," Williams' Chief Operations Engineer Rod Nelson told autosport.com at Barcelona.

"His car swapped its ends and crashed into the wall. The bodywork is all finished and the monocoque we are looking at it now but does not look good either," he added.

"It really has not been our week but Nico is okay and we are going home now. In Malaysia we had a good test and a bad race so hopefully is will be the other way round here!"
