Williams continue with point-less streak
Australian Mark Webber lamented another dismal day for his Williams team after crashing out of the Hungarian Grand Prix
Webber lost control of his car in the tricky conditions on the second lap of the race, hitting the barriers and ending his race.
The Williamns driver, however, was left encouraged by the team's pace this weekend and is determined to bounce back in Turkey.
"The conditions were very tricky for us today," said Webber. "The first lap was unreal with a few big moments as I had zero grip in the rear of the car and struggled to get the tyres going.
"I was doing my best to keep it together but, while going through the kink at the back of the circuit, I just grazed the Armco.
"The wing became stuck under the tub and I just couldn't get out of it. Retiring from such a good starting position is a real disappointment, but we are improving and we'll head to Turkey more determined to do well."
Teammate Nico Rosberg also retired from the race with electrics problems.
"It was very difficult to drive in the wet on our tyres today," Rosberg said. "In fact, it was almost impossible because the rear of the car was so nervous. I was trying hard not to make any mistakes and maintain a decent pace to get to the end.
"Unfortunately, something went wrong with the electrics and eventually the engine cut out on the exit of turn one and that was it. It was an interesting weekend, very challenging, where everything was a complete lottery."
The double retirement meant Williams have gone eight races without scoring a point, their worst ever streak in a single season.
