Williams Confident of Victory in Hungary

Williams-BMW's chief operations engineer Sam Michael believes his team can continue with their dominant form and win the Hungarian Grand Prix at the end of August.

Williams-BMW's chief operations engineer Sam Michael believes his team can continue with their dominant form and win the Hungarian Grand Prix at the end of August.

The Grove-based team are in good form, having scored 83 points from a possible 108 over the last six races, with Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya being part of the podium celebrations on all six occasions. Montoya won the German Grand Prix last Sunday to move closer to the top of the standings.

The four races remaining - Hungary, Italy, United States and Japan - are set to offer different teams the advantage in the season run-in but Williams are confident they can dominate again the next event in Budapest.

"The best indicator for Hungary is a combination of Monaco, Hockenheim and Magny-Cours - and we won on all three," Michael said. "We are pretty confident about the next race. For the remaining races we will have to see - we are reasonably confident about them all, but we have to keep up the work to bring new bits to the car and we have plenty in the pipeline."

Frank Williams said the engine provided by partners BMW was "in a class of its own" at Hockenheim and added: "This victory is a fine reward for the team's ongoing renaissance. A very encouraging situation."
