Webber: Red Bull must score with both cars

Mark Webber has urged teammate David Coulthard to lift his game and start delivering the results that Red Bull Racing need to secure fourth place in the constructors' championship

With the battle between Red Bull, Toyota and Renault finely poised, Webber thinks that his team will need to start getting both cars regularly in the points if they are to have any chance of emerging as best of the rest behind Ferrari, McLaren and BMW Sauber.

"It would be an absolutely massive celebration if we could get back into fourth and hold onto it," said Webber. "It's a tall order, but not impossible. We're within a point of it.

"We need two cars to do that - that's the only way we can do it because (Timo) Glock isn't hanging around when he has a good day and Nelson (Piquet) just picked up eight points.

"Both David and I need to operate every weekend on the back of the BMWs, which is seventh and eighth. If we can be there, we should do it. But it's so easy to say that."

Webber has finished in the points six times this year, compared to Coulthard's single result of third place in the Canadian Grand Prix.

And the importance for Red Bull Racing of finishing fourth is not just about prestige, because there are big financial rewards for teams depending on their constructors' championship position.

"It is significant - it would be nice to get it," explained Webber. "Dietrich (Mateschitz, Red Bull boss) is very keen on it. There's always pressure. We've been told that's what we've got to try and achieve.

"But I don't think he's going to sack 200 people if we finish fifth! It's a game as well."
