Webber Pleased with Slot, Not with Gap
Mark Webber believes his Williams team still have plenty of work to do overnight if they are going to be able to build on his encouraging third fastest time from first qualifying
The Australian, whose Monaco performance has further enhanced his reputation as one of the fastest Formula One drivers over a single lap, did better than many expected to line up behind Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso - but he knows the near one second deficit to the front is not ideal.
"The gap is quite big, but the position is not bad," he said. "But we have a lot more work to do."
Webber's charge to third place was certainly helped by Ralf Schumacher's session-stopping accident - although the Australian admits that he could have been more aggressive.
"I am pretty happy," he explained. "I was worried at the start of the session because some guys were struggling with grip.
"It was obvious that coming out on the tunnel you had to be careful because of lower grip level, so I was a bit of a blouse there - although it was a pretty good lap."
