Verstappen's Jordan Test Called Off

Dutchman Jos Verstappen will not test for the Jordan team due to problems fitting inside the car, the driver has said.

Dutchman Jos Verstappen will not test for the Jordan team due to problems fitting inside the car, the driver has said.

32-year old Verstappen was scheduled to test for Jordan at the start of next month at the Silverstone circuit, in what would have been his return to the wheel of a Formula One car since the end of last season.

The driver had been linked with a move to Jordan after the team reached a deal with Verstappen's long-term sponsor Trust.

Verstappen, who had had a seat fitting at Jordan's factory, said on his website today that the test had been called off after he was unable to fit comfortably inside the EJ14 car.

"If you can't sit in the car comfortably, you can't perform optimally", Verstappen said on his website. "It's a well thought decision from our side, made together with our sponsors. It's a shame, both for me as for Jordan.

"It's also a pity for the Jordan mechanics, who have worked very hard for me in order to have me sit in the car as good as possible. I thank them for their devotion."
